Thames Valley, Grand Valley, and the Guelph Hiking Club 3rd Annual Outing. The walk was on the Maitland Trail near Goderich. An après hike at Boston Pizza for food and drinks.

We departed @ 7.00 AM, travelling in a highway motor coach first to London to pick-up members of the TVTA then traveled to the trailheads. Our departure back to Kitchener was @ 4.00 PM

The group hiked sections of the trial that had major tornado damage in August 2011. An amazing job to reopen the trail was done with the help of many volunteers from different hiking clubs.

• Hike #1: 16.5 kms. Faster pace-longer hike starting at 3.5 kms on Map 1 (Maitland Trail Guide) following the White main trail to the end at 19 kms on map 2 near Benmiller. This hike starts with road walking and ends with steeper sections towards the end of the walk.

• Hike #2: 10.5 kms. Moderate pace-shorter hike start at 7.8 Km on map 2, Maitland Trail Guide, following the white main trail and some of the blue trail. Here the trail gets steep in sections. Hike #2 also ends at 19 km near Benmiller.
